Mid pour for the Toby Paterson "the sociology of autumn" project
2017 Mancester international festival. We were subcontracted to fabricate the plinth for this statue of Federick Engels. The artist Phil Collins decided to bring a statue home from the Ukraine, but he couldn't bring the plinth, thats were we can in. Looking forward to making it down to Mancester to get some decent shots!
We are being commissioned bt The Catstrand Arts centre in New Galloway to produce a wall sculpture representative of the Dumfries and Galloway Biosphere.
The concept is to reproduce slices of the landscape and resize to scale forming a recognisable landscape.
The sculpture is drawn roughly 2mx1.2m.
Upcoming floor project. Ground floor flat with the floor flowinw between entrance, kitchen, livingroom and bathroom where it will be the floor of a wetroom.
Design by Gabion, based on "Penrose" tiles.
Installation due for May 2017.
The dimensions of these tiles (58mmx418mmx12mm) Allow compositions other than a standard herringbone.
Heres an example of an alternative composition, again the detail tiles are represented by the shaded area.
Playing with the idea of a feature strip as often seen in traditional tiled settings, eg old pub walls
The detail tiles as featured in the previous posts are represented by the shaded tiles. The plain tiles represent plain concrete of various tones.
Suitable for walls and floors.
Different pattern, same technique. I have a certain amount of control over the composition of these tiles and complete control over colour, happy to tailor either.
New bash at herringbone/parquet,
Tile 58mmx418mm, 2mm grout line intended.
